Jeff Xu has experience in a wide range of areas, including M&A, foreign direct investment (inbound and outbound), regulatory and dispute resolution. He has been involved in both transactional and contentious works of various business sectors, including TMT, new energy industries, healthcare, consumer goods and media.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised a China based chemical company in acquisition of the surface solution business from an European company.
- Advised a China based home appliance company in acquisition of the commercial refrigeration business from a US based company.
- Advised a US manufacturing company in attending to environmental non-compliance issues in China and responding to regulatory probe and criminal investigation.
- Advised a US manufacturing company in attending to safety incident and the subsequent reporting to regulatory bodies in China.
- Advised Jinjiang Group for its overseas acquisitions of Louvre and Radisson, the subsequent re-organization and integration of multiple hotel brands.
- Advised China based state-owned fund in managing the re-organization of its portfolio companies, formulating exit strategies and attending to regulatory scrutiny.
- Acted as main coordinator of the overseas matters of an established China based passenger car manufacturer.
- Advised various multinational companies on the spin-off of their global operations, coordinating corporate and regulatory issues in China.
- Advised various multinational companies in implementing equity plans in China and representing them in dealing with exchange control authorities.
- Advised a China based car manufacturer in the negotiation of licensing of car designs with a Germany based car manufacturer.
