Biography

Jacky Zhu specializes in corporate, cross-border M&A, private equity and outbound investment. He acted for a range of companies seeking to operate and invest in China as well as Chinese companies looking to invest abroad. Mr. Zhu provides services to clients in various industries, including manufacturing, telecommunications, media, food, healthcare, logistics, software and financial sectors.

  • Acted for Honeywell China on its acquisition of 25% equity interest in a logistic software company in Shanghai, China.
  • Acted for a global chemical products manufacturer on the demerger, reorganization and transfer of certain businesses and assets in Shanghai and Jiangsu Province, China.
  • Advised an international private equity fund on its global acquisition of a German automobile spare parts manufacturer in relation to the due diligence and transaction documents for the local purchase of the target business in China. 
  • Advised a Korean displayer manufacturer on the demerger and spin-off of its investment and business in Jiangsu Province, China.
  • Acted for an international private equity fund on its acquisition of 3M’s global library solution business in China.
  • Acted for a famous international soft drink company on its acquisition of approximately 25.8% stake in a Chinese food company headquartered in Guangzhou, China.
  • Acted for a UK high-tech company for the establishment of a joint venture in Sichuan Province, China.
  • Advised an international coffeehouse chain on the USD 1.3 billion buyout of its East China joint venture.
  • Advised a UK customer science company on setting up a WFOE in Shanghai, China.
  • Advised DBS Bank on its acquisition of Australia and New Zealand Banking’s retail and wealth management businesses in China.
